Several Spiral Members showed up later.
Christian showed up around 4:15, just in time to go in with the other 25 or so who had been fortunate
enough to witness the sound check. What an Honor not to mention much warmer than standing outside.
Sound Check
Yes, we were among the chosen ones.
I can't recall ever having been so excited...
We walked up to the rail and Trent was already on stage but the air was foggy and we weren't sure who
was who till we got up there. A moment after we had spotted him, I said "Hi Trent" then he looked over at us and
said "hello" to all of us hardcore fans, it seemed so quiet to be in there with so few people...I think we all
must have been in awe of being in the presence of such an awesome being.
The Big guy(Steve?) who had led us across the floor, had directed us to the right side of the stage where Trent could
easily focus his display toward our small group. Christian was on the rail in the left corner of the right section,
as close as we could get to center stage. The energy was extremely high yet respectful. The spiral members
who were not there early and the non-spiral members definitely missed out on a very unique and
intimate experience with the man himself, Trent Reznor.
During March of the pigs Trent assisted Josh with the count, explaining how it should be done.
Trent said to Josh "I don't fuck up so don't You fuck up" and after he introduced Josh Freese
toward the end of the set, I yelled "Good Job, Josh" and we all cheered for him, I felt as though Trent approved of
our support and encouragement toward Josh...He really did great and I don't think anything was lost from the switch.

Event Staff took us back to seats
The girl from myspace interviewed us and I just wish I had been more prepared. Chris and I held the NIN
banner we had. She talked to Christian and he told her that his favorite song is "Only" and he's remixing
a "quiet" version with Ableton-Live. I just gave our stats and said we love NIN. It was ironic because
earlier outside, I had wanted to video her when she was telling us about the last 3 shows she went to and
how she was going to the next 15 but I wasn't sure if she'd feel comfortable on cam and I didn't want
to interrupt the mood or miss any details.
The Concert Begins
Autolux... the girl could drum.
smell of weed
QOTSA...they didn't do the one song I kinda know...Nicotine, Valium, Vicodin, Marijuana, Ecstasy
and Alcohol...Cocaine (Goodtime Hit of the Summer)
I just really wanted them to be done so we could get on to the reason I still exist.
Smells of incense
...waiting for NIN to begin...
The lights went down and everyone started screaming...the enthusiasm of the crowd became a tangible essence
that passed through the crowd in a turbulant wave. The entire set was absolutely thrilling! I kept thinking
"I can't believe I'm standing here in front of Trent Reznor". At one point he held his guitar out toward us and
was rapidly flipping the trebble switch and I could swear that he made full eye contact with me as his gui-tar sung
a twangy sound... (we were in the center corner to Trents left hanging on the rail)

I loved his facial expressions during Love is not enough and as soon as burn startd I recall screaming
"BURN" as loud as I could and the part where he says "I am subversion... secret desire... I am the future...
SWALLOW DOWN ALL THAT FIRE", I totally felt his energy raising my vibrations as his voice transformed into a
high pitched primal scream. I was so
there

Felt bad about the "don't you" during Starfuckers Inc. I too expected to get the bird along with "well, phuck you".
God knows I would never ever intentionally want to offend Trent in any way.
During Closer, he threw in some lyrics from the precursor version
(which is our fav.... "through every forest through the trees in my stomach scraped off my knees...")
I love that part and we were totally blown away....what a thrill!!

During MOTP, he threw some water directly on top of us and soaked my hair and tank,
then he threw the bottle over our heads...I loved every drop of it.
When he threw the mic into the crowd, I jumped and grabbed the cord and had a tight hold but the mic itself had
gone beyond me and I don't know how many people were pulling on it, then the security guard started pulling the
cord from the other direction...I lost it and he had told me earlier that Trent expects to lose the mic and all
they want back is the cord...and what a trophy that would be to take home!
Only. ...omg could not believe we were hearing it....absolutely loved it (knew Christian was flipping out
too...He was up 11 rows stage right and had glow bracelets and a glow band wrapped around his hat and I
could see him jamming away)
Hurt...as always...hauntingly beautiful....just better live in person.
Took a moment after the show to contemplate the possible reasons why I had not received an after party sticker
(being the Biggest Fan in The World and all) but I'll assume it wasn't meant to be and we needed to recover from
the rib crushing pressures we had just endured.
10-8 Got two flat tires and drove through rain and snow on the way home....it didn't even phase us
(4 people stopped to help!)
